About the role_

Meraki provides a rewarding experience to mentor and support children, young people and NDIS participants.

Meraki prides itself on putting a focus on relationships so when workers come on board, we want to get to know your interests and skills so that we can match up your personality with appropriate children/young people that you will enjoy supporting.

We believe it's not as simple as assigning a young person to a worker, but instead finding a match between a young person and mentor who will enjoy spending time together.


Working with Meraki will allow you to help people with disabilities achieve goals, work toward independent living and engage pro-socially within their community.

As a support worker you will engage with children, young people and NDIS participants through the following support services
- _
Supervised Contact Visits_**: supervising visitation between children/young people and their relatives
- _
Transport Services:_transporting children/young people to complete daily activities, attend appointments, go to and from school/work and participate in community activities.
- _
Mentoring/Community Access_**: promoting purposeful relationships and developing a positive sense of self and connection within the participants local community.
- _
Overnight Support:_assisting children/young people and their families to develop and maintain routines in a home-setting.
- _
In-Home Support/Respite:_supporting young people, families and participants within the home supporting to build routine and structure within the household. _

Skills and experience

Applicants must possess:_

  • A current employee Working With Children Check (WWCC),
  • A current National Police Check (NPC),
  • A current drivers license, (P2 accepted) and access to a clean, road worthy vehicle for transporting participants/young people.
  • Comprehensive car insurance on your intended work vehicle.
  • A relevant industry qualification (minimum Cert IV), or currently studying. This can include but is not limited to; disability, community services, youth work, early childhood education, psychology, criminology, teaching, and other welfare studies.
  • A current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Access to a laptop/mobile phone to complete required reports.
  • NDIS Orientation Module Certificate
  • Demonstrate capacity to work effectively in a oneonone setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role and responsibility of a Youth Support Worker.
  • Demonstrate communications, organisation and emotional intelligence skills.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of professional ethical behaviour and sound understanding of boundary issues.

There is a high demand for male support workers within the industry.
