We are seeking a qualified surveyor with civil infrastructure experience and exposure to main roads, bulk earthworks, concrete works and/or pipelines projects.

This is a permanent full time Perth metro site based position. Our current portfolio comprises Land Development and Civil Infrastructure in the Perth metro area.

Working in a supportive environment you will be responsible for:

  • Survey set out.
  • Maintaining weekly and monthly volume reports.
  • Machine GPS survey control.
  • Producing plans, maps, files, charts and reports as requested.
  • Providing feedback to the Construction Manager, Project Manager and Site Engineers as necessary regarding drawings, discrepancies or deficiencies.
  • Good technical and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently of management to complete survey tasks and solve problems autonomously.
  • Liaise with the clients & other parties regarding job details and requirements.
  • Reduction of raw field data & preparation of necessary plans & reports for any given task.
  • Ability to work on multiple disciplines at one time.
  • Calculate volume and area quantities.
  • Perform Preliminary, Construction Stakeout and As-Built surveys.
  • Transmit data and communicate with office personnel, contractors, and outside consultants.
  • Work with the construction team to resolve design clashes most effectively, highlight areas of risk with the provided designs, check they work on the ground and provide effective solutions if designs are flawed.
  • Assist the construction team with understanding set out information through toolboxing or GPS assistance.
  • Check information and plans are correct with the latest design information provided by consultants and that all GPS/UTS machinery is working to the latest information.
  • In conjunction with the Construction Team and Safety Representative ensure that construction site safety is managed and maintained at all times.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Surveying Degree/Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years in an Engineering Surveying role.
  • Experience in the construction and civil industry or similar field is essential.
  • Experience with machine control (Trimble/Topcon/Leica).
  • Sound knowledge of current surveying and statutory legislative practices and requirements.
  • Verified capability in survey control establishment, feature surveys, volume calculations, setting out and problem solving is essential.
  • Proven competency in Microsoft Office suite software packages.
  • WA C class (manual) drivers licence.
  • Ability to create site specific models for our operators to work from (e.g. bulk earthworks models, large drainage excavation models).
  • Construction Industry induction card.
  • Experience with Leica/Trimble/Topcon total stations and GPS.
