The Role

An opportunity exists for a School Nurse to join the Health Centre at our Caulfield Campus in this is a Permanent, Part-Time role.

Reporting directly to the Health Centre Coordinator, the School Nurse is required to provide first aid to all students including the boarding house, and health care management to our students at the Caulfield Campus. You will provide support for the overall wellbeing of students whilst abiding by School protocol and procedure when providing first aid and health care management.

The Caulfield Grammar School residential community is a large part of our healthcare program and we strive to deliver high quality of care to the boarding students at Caulfield Campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, treat, and manage all health care issues in an appropriate timeframe
  • Administer and supervise appropriate medications within the schools' medication guidelines
  • Communicate with parents/guardians/boarding house and School staff regarding health care matters of students where appropriate
  • Document all health care provision incidents including Accident/Incident Report Forms
  • Maintain up-to-date student medical records
  • Assist with the maintenance and allocation of medical equipment, first aid kits, supplies & medications, pharmacy orders & accounts
  • Assist in School health programmes for students and staff
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse Division 1 qualification
  • Employment Working with Children's Check
  • Relevant certifications in First Aid Certificate / First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis / Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace would be advantageous
  • Membership of Victorian School Nurses
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to the school community (students, parents/guardians, and school staff)
  • Strong computer literacy and administrative skills
  • Effective organisational skills and ability to use discretion to ensure confidentiality
