The Role

The role of the Project Acceleration & Efficiency Specialist is to manage project efficiency and acceleration initiatives for delivery of the project on and/or ahead of schedule through implementing quality engineering and constructability initiatives. This position will assist with research, development and assist in the implementation of means to optimise project progress.

  • Fostering constructive collaboration among project stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Engaging with construction and engineering teams, as well as subject matter experts, to identify potential improvement opportunities.
  • Contributing to the development of project improvement initiatives, utilising DMAIC-based transformation methodologies and data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts, consultants, business analysts, and project managers to further refine technical development initiatives.
  • Developing comprehensive business cases for the implementation of efficiency enhancements.
  • Coordinating with FGJV & Voith technical, construction, and commercial teams to implement acceleration and efficiency proposals.
  • Monitoring the implementation and progress of proposals during the execution phase, evaluating against predefined success metrics.
  • Providing technical support for construction issues under the guidance of the Construction Director/Senior Construction Advisor, in collaboration with site management and the FGJV construction team.

You'll Bring To The Team:

A tertiary qualification in mechanical civil/structural engineering disciplines along with experience in similar roles encompassing civil/structural design, civil construction, and underground excavations. Your practical experience in executing construction works and knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution, including procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, ideally with hydropower exposure, will be invaluable. Additionally, your familiarity with Australian design standards and international codes relevant to hydropower/large hydraulic structures is essential. Possessing an Owner's or Client's mindset in implementing the ER, you excel in proactive problem-solving and adapting to change. With exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, you effectively convey information and ideas to various stakeholders. Your initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams while upholding Snowy Hydro's corporate values make you an ideal addition to our team.
