We are currently looking for an Operational Risk & Compliance Analyst to join our Risk & Compliance Team for a twelve (12) month fixed term contract.

As the Operational Risk & Compliance Analyst you will play a key role in assisting VWFSA to maintain and operationalise its risk and compliance framework.

This critical role is instrumental in the delivery of key VWFSA risk and compliance activities such as policy reviews, training, advisory, assessments and monitoring.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operational Risk and Compliance Manager in implementing and maintaining the Operational Risk Management Framework and Compliance Framework
  • Support the Operational Risk and Compliance Manager with licensing and regulator reporting requirements, including submissions to ASIC and AUSTRAC
  • Partner with business stakeholders to deliver commercially compliant outcomes through policy, training, controls, advice and monitoring activities
  • Manage and maintain obligations, gifts and hospitality, banned, incidents and breaches registers
  • Conduct reviews to verify compliance with regulatory obligations and internal policies
  • Assist with Headquarters reporting requirements
  • Assist in the investigations of incidents and breaches reported, including facilitating remediation strategies and actions.
  • Exposure to and understanding of credit legislation in a finance context
  • Tertiary education in business, finance and/ or law
  • Knowledge and experience in customer service, complaints handling and/ or collections processes
  • Reasonable knowledge of regulatory obligations in relation to the AML/ CTF Act, Privacy and/ or the National Credit Act
  • Strong advisory and communication skills
  • Ability to engage with business colleagues and gain stakeholder support
  • Practical problem solving skills with an operational focus preferably in a financial services environment
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs
  • High attention to detail and time management skills
