What You'll Be Working On:

This casual opportunity is based in our Property and Works team.

In this role, you will provide quality service to our Mosman community by carrying out maintenance of Council infrastructure and assets.

This include inspections, 'make safe' assessments and rapid repairs, and installation of new Council infrastructure such as street signs, park furniture, road and footpath pavement repairs, fencing and building repairs.


Your experience as a trades or handyperson will be beneficial when coordinating and prioritising customer requests and carrying out the work.

You will also cooperate with other Property and Works team members as required.


As this is a casual position, hours of work will be offered on an as needs basis, allowing a genuine work-life balance.


What You'll Bring to the Role:
You will have relevant experience as a trades
- or skilled handyperson relating to the areas of work required by Council for the maintenance of its infrastructure and assets.


Your demonstrated ability to interpret work requests and estimate job quantities and times, ability to exercises responsibility for the coordination of various types of general maintenance works and experience in preparation of job specific risk assessments will ensure your success in this role.


In addition, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in safe work practices and effectively working alone when required with the ability to identify situations where assistance is appropriate
  • Effective time management, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Current NSW Driver Licence (LR or MR preferred)
  • General Construction Induction (White) Card and Implement Traffic Control Plans (formerly yellow card) or willingness to obtain
  • Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Valid COVID19 vaccination certificate
Computer proficiency including Windows and Microsoft365 with the ability to learn new systems is desirable.
