About the position
We are currently looking for a

Coordinator,

for our

Alcohol & Other Drugs Programs based in

Brisbane, travel will be required within the Brisbane, West Moreton and Gold Coast Region. The position is permanent full-time basis. You will be coordinating three of the AOD programs - Drug Diversion, Youth in Charge & Amend and backfilling where needed.

With your extensive and well-rounded skills within the Mental Health or Human Services field you will also bring the following:

  • Ability to engage with clients with complex / multiple needs (mental health, domestic violence, behaviours, drug and alcohol) in a supportive role that enhances and empowers
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and delivery of community education packages to 'at risk' populations
  • Ability to work within a whole of family framework
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to the service area and ability to administer and interpret risk assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment and service boundaries
  • Well established organisational and time management skills; able to prioritise, plan, organise and manage competing demand and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use judgement independently, while being able to lead a team of professional staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to gather, analyse and report on data
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite and general computer use
There is significant travel required, so along with your versatile and flexible attitude, the following traits are essential:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders, including those suffering from mental health, drug and alcohol, domestic violence and other behavioural issues
  • Highly motivated and outcomes driven
  • Creative thinker who promotes this attribute within your team; ability to provide "outside the box" solutions
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills; offer practical advice and demonstrate competent decision making skills
  • Emotional resilience and ability to remain professional at all times
  • Initiative, and able to monitor and manage your own workload while working within role expectations, deadlines and management requirements
  • One day per fortnight you will have your own caseload of drug diversion clients

Qualifications and certifications required will include:

  • A degree in Health, Human Services or similar field; postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health highly desirable
  • Current National Police Certificate
  • A valid Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • A current Queensland Drivers Licence
  • Current COVID19 Vaccination Certificate
  • Commitment to working outside regular business hours as required
