St Columba's Catholic College is looking for an enthusiastic, Qualified Gardener / Groundskeeper to join our school community on an ongoing full-time basis.

Key Accountabilities
Maintenance (including preventative maintenance) to equipment, grounds and gardens including:

• Lawn, hedge and garden establishment and maintenance
• Operation of a specialised range of machinery e.g. ride on mower
• Use of herbicides and pesticides, compliant with safe work practices
• Assisting with building maintenance, painting, general cleaning and washing down of facilities
• Carry out minor repairs to the school's property and equipment as requested
• Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for school functions
• Ensuring all work tasks comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements by liaising with the College Business Manager
• Other duties as determined by the Principal

Desirable Criteria

• Relevant certificate or trade qualifications in landscaping / horticulture
• Appropriate demonstrated experience in maintaining extensive gardens/grounds

Qualified Tradespersons are accountable for:

• Employees are required to support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church's work in schools.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel
• General maintenance work which includes the use of trade accredited skills in areas such as carpentry, plumbing or electrical services.

Typical Experience and Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in the relevant area of study
• Appropriate demonstrated experience
