About the role:

• SolidWorks Drafter Temporary Contract
• Experienced Drafter.

We are a small, busy manufacturer of custom-made, high-end architectural metal products for residential and commercial builders.

Your primary function will be to design and create conceptual shop drawings of our products for our clients and manufacturing drawings for our production team, using SolidWorks software.

These drawings are an essential tool for our projects and manufacturing execution, so they must be very detailed and accurate.

You will work closely with our team and collaborate with our clients on projects, adjusting the plan based on their customisation and building site requirements, so efficient organisational and communication skills are essential.

Key duties include:

• Create technical drawings using SolidWorks software
• Ensure drawings are comprehensively set out, with complete product details, to facilitate effective and accurate construction and manufacture, using normally available equipment and processes
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Control documents related to drafts, variations, and the final copies of drawings that are produced for clients and factory
• Liaise with clients, architects, and builders throughout the design process
• Provide workshop drawings for the manufacturing team
• Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
• Prepare drawings and models to budgeted hours and timeframes, as directed.

Preferred skills & experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
• Handson proven experience with SolidWorks is crucial
• Strong communication skills (oral & written), including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels, both internally and externally.
• Proven work experience as a drafter.

On offer:

This is a temporary position as our drafter is going on holidays. You'll be coming to the factory and working directly with our team. We are a dynamic team and have a respectful and positive workplace.

Flexible workday options.

You'll be needed for three days per week:
We operate from 7am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday, and from 7am to 1pm on Fridays.

Salary:
From $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
