Join the Banyule Leisure team as one of our permanent part time Gym Instructors.

Our centres feature pools for lap swimmers and learners, a spa and sauna, a fully equipped gymnasium and group fitness areas.

The role will work over two centres - Ivanhoe Aquatic and Olympic Leisure Centre.

About the role:

You will:

  • Ensure that health and fitness programs are developed to meet the individual requirements and health circumstances of each member.
  • Ensure appropriate instruction is provided to all health and fitness members on the correct use of equipment, exercise techniques and program participation.
  • Ensure appropriate fitness tests and reviews are conducted on all members using health and fitness facilities.
  • Ensure excellent standards of communication are maintained with customers at all times.
  • Ensure that appropriate records are maintained of facility and equipment.
  • Manage the health and fitness facilities in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations governing the operation of health and fitness facilities.
The role will work across both the Ivanhoe Aquatic Centre and Olympic Village Leisure Centre

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A current registration with Physical Activity or Fitness Australia.
  • A current Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • A current C.P.R Certificate.
  • Demonstrated commitment to our values.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Instructors should have a sound knowledge of biomechanical techniques, first aid, resuscitation and public safety requirements and are required to have competent computer skills.
  • A commitment to Banyule Leisure's values and a keen interest in promoting health and fitness of our customers and the wider community.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to multitask in a busy and dynamic environment, without compromising service to customers.
