Our Water team promotes holistic, sustainable water resource management for governments, investors, developers, manufacturers, utilities, and corporations, helping with network maintenance and development, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and future-ready strategies.

This is your chance to drive the future ready engineering design solutions and be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality design delivery on water infrastructure projects in primarily in SA, with the opportunity to be involved in our national flagship programs.

We are accepting applications from Design Managers, Senior Design Managers and Associate Design Managers with water utilities experience.
What you'll do Deploy risk management principles & methodologies into project systems and processes.
Accountable for business and project delivery as required to lead the delivery of high-quality design delivery on project.
Work in partnership with other design organisations in Alliance or JV.
Management of design team and interfacing with contractor workforce.
Seek design team resources for each project.
The ultimate responsibility for providing resources lies with the business section executive.
Prepare design fee estimates for both the "tender design phase" and the "delivery phase" of each project.
Liaise with other key roles of the Alliance or JV.
Manage the overall delivery of designs to time, budget and quality.

You'll also manage Engineering governance processes (design reviews, change management, request for information, validation and verification, etc., related to the design.)Management of design team and interfacing with contractor workforce.

About you This role is strategically important to our future growth and impact.

We are looking for someone who has a can-do attitude, who is consultative, able to prioritise their work and get things done.

The successful candidate will be a team player, and able to work with a range of stakeholders including influencing senior leaders and helping highly technical engineers understand commercial imperatives.

Recognised Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical (Process) or Electrical engineering Relevant (Water) industry experience.
Demonstrated high level of technical knowledge.
Strong experience in working in partnership with other design organisations in Alliance or JV.

Skilled in managing conflicts between organisational cultures and business systems demands Extensive experienced in owning and being responsible for signing off on design.

Delivered designs that meet legal requirements, quality standards and client outcomes on projects.
Established and managed complex design processes and systems in high profile projects Proven competency in project management.
Demonstrated leadership and management ability.
Demonstrated sound technical knowledge.
Able to juggle multiple tasks across several projects across the business unit.
Basic knowledge of contracts or drafting variations desirable.
Knowledge and experience in cost reporting, analysis, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word essential.
