Senior Physiotherapist – Neurosciences (Level hours per fortnight)

This is a permanent, part time position. As the Level 3 Physiotherapist – Neurosciences, you will be responsible for providing a high quality physiotherapy service to NBH as part of the wider Physiotherapy team.

This position will be responsible for overseeing the Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) and inpatient neurological and neurosurgical patients at Northern Beaches Hospital. The position will also be responsible for overseeing junior Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants working in these clinical areas and managerial tasks as delegated by the Department Manager.

The Physiotherapy team at Northern Beaches Hospital provides a 7-day service to all inpatient areas, these include but are not limited to: intensive care, orthopaedics, surgical wards, neurosciences and neurosurgery, cardiothoracics, general medicine and the emergency department. This position will include participation in a weekend and public holiday roster.

Essential Criteria:

Degree in Physiotherapy and current registration with AHPRA Minimum 5 years' clinical experience working in an acute care hospital Extensive experience working with acute stroke, neurological and neurosurgical patients Demonstrated provision of excellent clinical care related to patient assessment, treatment, discharge planning and contemporary evidence based practice in Physiotherapy Demonstrated ability and previous experience in providing leadership to a designated clinical area Experience in providing supervision and mentoring to junior Physiotherapy staff, Allied Health Assistants and students Demonstrated participation in driving service development and quality improvement within a Physiotherapy Department Ability to work with other senior staff and Physiotherapy Manager on issues such as workload, service management and strategic planning Excellent time management, communication and organisation skills
