The People, Governance, Parliamentary and Communication Division supports the department to achieve its strategic outcomes by providing a range of client focused advice and essential services.


This includes work by the Human Resources and Property Branch to build and sustain a workplace culture of inclusivity, integrity and professionalism, reflective of a modern and responsive public service.


What will you do?


We are responsible for designing and implementing a range of culture and workforce strategies which support our staff across their career lifecycle.

Supporting the Senior Diversity and Inclusion Advisor you will work on a number projects including:

  • Implementing the department's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and supporting the department's role across the broader APS in relation to diversity and inclusion-
  • Supporting the department's Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Diversity Champions and working closely with the Diversity Networks-
  • In liaison with the department's six staff led Diversity Networks, support and promote a culture of inclusion through hosting of various events and initiatives throughout the year-
  • Implementing the department's Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework-
  • Work closely with our Indigenous Liaison Officer on First Nations strategies and initiatives supporting First Nations employment and retention.

We are currently seeking to fill the role of an APS Level 5 Diversity and Inclusion Advisor.

_Diversity and Inclusion Adviser_


To be successful in a Diversity and Inclusion Advisor role, you will be a HR generalist with a broad background and a passion for translating challenges into implementable strategy.

You will be excited by the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders at all levels within the department to assess their current and emerging people challenges and design creative strategies that ensure we continue to deliver on our priorities.
