To be successful you must possess the following:

  • 5+ years' relevant experience.
  • Minimum C Class Licence.
  • High Risk Working Licence.
  • Possess operational expertise with steel products and project freight.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • High level interpersonal relations skills.
  • Strong Knowledge and Understanding of COR.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to defuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.
  • A strong commitment to HSEQ practice's, policies and procedures.
  • Provide proof of full unrestricted Australian working rights.
  • All successful applicants may be required to undergo a pre-employment medical/police check.

Your role:

  • Liaise with key stakeholders and develop the daily rolling "24-72 Hour Unpack & Redelivery Schedule", ensuring compliance with all COR requirements.
  • Develop the weekly unpack & redelivery capacity plan.
  • Ensure crew rostering is effective and achieves our operational plans.
  • Work closely with drivers and yard team members to oversee and ensure cargo is unpacked, loaded, restrained, meeting all regulatory and internal standards.
  • Lead and mentor the yard team.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal communication with other divisions.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping in the yard.
  • Maintain an effective and positive working relationship with customers inclusive of regular site visits.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities on material handling equipment.
  • Supervise routine stocktakes of yard storage.
  • Conduct monthly toolbox meetings.
  • Operate forklifts and other necessary vehicles and equipment involved in handling materials.
  • To comply with CoR requirements.
  • Effect and manage communication around schedule deviations.
