Mechanical Fitter Job Description - Permanent role

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine the best way to proceed with a mechanical installation.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, such as pumps, valves, engines, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Verify equipment and system operations by conducting tests and inspections.
  • Perform repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and a selfstarter.
