Learning Improvement Group commissions, develops, and delivers programs that improve educational standards, the quality of teaching and learning in NSW schools, and provides support for children and students.

The team is also responsible developing evidence-based programs, professional learning, and instructional resources to build the capability of teachers and school leaders and delivering improvement at scale through local support to groups of teachers or tailored to schools and principal networks.


About the role


The Project Officer, as part of the Psychology and Student Mental Health team performs project management and policy development activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of priorities in line with established objectives.

You will enjoy engaging with the stakeholders to communicate and consult the key initiatives and have experience in delivering projects.

The Psychology and Student Mental Health team is recruiting people who have policy and/or project management experience and interest to support partnership work with NSW Health and other stakeholders.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Tertiary level qualifications and relevant experience in the fields of social work, mental health, youth work, community development or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

  • The ability to deliver strong outcomes against tight deadlines and limited resources
