We are seeking an experienced and business oriented, Japanese Speaking Engineering Project Manager to lead the capacity, capital planning and project execution for the continued expansion of our JP fulfillment network. Successful candidates will have Engineering Program and Project Management experience. The Sr. Engineering Project Manager will understand the details of an Amazon Fulfillment Center design, implementation, modeling, estimating and managing new Fulfillment Center start-ups. The individual will lead a project team and provide leadership in managing the build specifications; pre-contract work, internal teams and vendor relations. This individual will be responsible for managing critical path and helping other teams deliver network capacity on time.

The Engineering Project Manager will define, drive and simplify strategy, while being detailed oriented and agile to manage business changes and keep driving initiatives. The individual will conduct multiple weekly meetings with internal teams and vendors to plan and track deliverables. The individual will own and develop technology innovations and solutions on a need basis and work very closely with other teams. This role holder will be interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization in order to be successful. The projects are focused in Asia Pacific region that serve Amazon's Fulfillment Transportation, and Delivery network, but there are opportunities to support projects abroad.

Additional activities:

-Maintain and update knowledge repository

As a Robotics Deployment Engineer for Amazon, you will collaborate with a talented team and dive into challenging technical problems to deliver Amazon's leading edge robotics technologies in its fulfillment, transportation, and delivery network. This role requires a unique combination of engineering know how, problem solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication. You will be the engineering lead onsite helping manage resources and providing robotics expertise, on site during various deployments. You will excel at interfacing and delivering results with cross functional teams. Your projects are focused in Asia Pacific that serve Amazon's Fulfillment Transportation, and Delivery network.

Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will have proven engineering program and project management experience. They will be expected to quickly grasp the details of Amazon fulfillment center design, along with the processes involved with modelling, budgeting and managing the deployment of new fulfillment centers in Japan and beyond. The individual will play a pivotal role in the project team, providing leadership across the full spectrum of project delivery, from managing the build specifications and pre-contract work, to inspiring internal teams and maintaining vendor relations. The Sr. Engineering Project Manager will truly understand the critical path and have an instinct for stakeholder management, helping other teams deliver network capacity on time.

The Engineering Project Manager defines, drives and simplifies strategy. Detail-oriented and focused on delivery, the successful candidate will also confidently navigate change whilst driving initiatives. They will identify and seize opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers; they will be mindful of Amazon's commitments to sustainability and believe passionately in nurturing the growth of individuals under them.

A day in the life
You will be interacting daily with a wide variety of teams and individuals at all levels of the organization and in multiple time zones. You'll be liaising with SME across organization, diving deep to understand the technologies we deploy; you'll build on these relationships to help refine and improve our deployments and processes. While you'll main focus be across Asia Pacific, you may find yourself supporting projects in other parts of world. No two days are same in our fast-moving environment yet you'll discover endless opportunities to learn and grow along way as part of a tight-knit and supportive team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree
5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
Conversant with leading-edge technology including software, hardware and robotics
Experienced in leading teams through setup and configuration of software, hardware, and robotics projects
Ability to perform onsite hardware and software support during initial system deployment
Proven experience leading overall end-to-end project delivery including resources, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), schedule and vendor management.
Committed to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
Willingness to travel 75% of the year Including international locations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
Experience working with and managing third party vendors
Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
Business-level Japanese
