The UGLs Maintenance & Manufacturing facility based in Bayswater has an opportunity for an experienced Trades Assistant to join the team.


  • This position will be a permanent full time opportunity working on a rotating roster, one week of day shift 6.00am 2.30pm, one week of afternoon shift 1.30pm pm.
  • Reporting to the workshop supervisor, the main purpose of this role is to assist qualified trades staff in the performance of their work in a safe and efficient manner to deliver an exceptional standard of service to our clients.


 About the role
  • Assist tradespeople as instructed to enable work to be carried out
  • Operate hand tools in safe and efficient manner
  • Assist in maintenance and overhaul activities on a variety of components
  • Labouring duties as required
  • Cleaning armature & stator cores for rewind
  • Ensure active involvement in Lean practices
  • A strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment

About You

  • Minimum 3 months experience on a maintenance site preferred but not essential
  • Elevated Work Platform Ticket preferred but not essential
- 'C' Class Drivers License

  • Able to perform duties, maintaining high standards in both Safety and Quality.
  • Sound experience in a similar role assisting trades people in a heavy industry environment
  • High level of measuring skills and eye for detail and quality standards
  • Strong safety culture and attitude towards safety
  • Strong communication skills
