About the Role

As a Mine Controller, you will be part of our IROC (Integrated Remote Operations Centre) Autonomous Haulage Front Runner Mine Control team, responsible for achieving production targets by ensuring the efficient operation of our Front Runner Autonomous fleet management system. Reporting to the AH Control Supervisor, your role will involve executing daily operations plans safely while maximizing the utilization of the autonomous truck fleet. You will play an active part in ensuring compliance with schedules and operational philosophies, fostering a culture that upholds company safety standards and constantly seeks to enhance operational efficiency and cost savings. Within IROC, you will collaborate with passionate, innovative, and results-driven individuals from diverse backgrounds who embrace new work methods and benefit from comprehensive training to excel in their roles. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding site Safety Systems and their connection to health and safety
  • Effective management of the autonomous fleet
  • Maximization of operational plan compliance
  • Building positive relationships through communication and consultation
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Continuous improvement by identifying system and operational process enhancements in the use of the autonomous fleet management system
  • Solutions-oriented mindset and a commitment to enhancing teamwork daily

About You

We are looking for candidates excited about being part of a significant technology transformation and who possess the following:

  • Prior Mine Control experience as a Mine Controller or Dispatch Operator
  • Previous exposure to Modular DispatchTM or FrontrunnerTM systems is highly valued
  • Adaptability to change and the ability to work independently
  • Positive attitude towards learning and acquiring new skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Collaborative, coaching, and influencing skills
  • High level of computer literacy and strong verbal communication skills

This position is based in the IROC control room at 125 St Georges Terrace in the Perth CBD, offering employees the flexibility to choose from various transportation options, including public transport, self-drive, or cycling with secure lockup facilities on-site. You will work on our Lifestyle Roster, involving a rotation of day and night shifts with consecutive days off periodically, providing employees with two full weekends off out of four, and completing 12.5-hour shifts that include handovers.
