Senior Engineering Manager (Front End) - Jira Service Management
Jira Service Management (JSM) enables Dev and Ops teams to collaborate efficiently, respond to business changes, and deliver exceptional service experiences to employees and customers. JSM empowers teams in various departments to set up service desks quickly, adapt to scaling needs, and provide outstanding service without the complexity of traditional ITSM solutions. By connecting Dev and Ops, JSM accelerates development work, eliminates manual tasks, and tracks changes effortlessly, establishing high-velocity ITSM.
Support Mission:
- Support mission teams in JSM manage support channels such as Email, Chat, and the web-based Help Center.
- The teams are actively working on innovative solutions to enhance the help experience with AI across support channels and expand service capabilities with intelligent features.
- Opportunity to lead a large product experience-oriented team working under the Head of Engineering.
About You:
- Experience leading high-performing engineering teams and managing cross-functional projects.
- Collaboration with Product Management and UX Design in product discovery and delivery.
- Passion for understanding customer needs and fostering the same mentality in engineers.
- Extensive experience in frontend technologies and developing applications at scale.
- Hands-on exposure to technologies like React, GraphQL, Kotlin, AWS, etc.
- Curiosity about team technologies, strong in systems design discussions, and value good communication practices.
- Familiarity with Agile, XP, Lean methodologies and adaptable to diverse working practices.
- Comfortable with early product development pace and uncertainties, proficient in self and team management.
- Based in India with 2+ years of engineering management experience and a relevant degree in Computer Science or related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empower teams to ship features efficiently and safely with the necessary tools and processes.
- Drive technical and operational excellence, promoting innovation and quality.
- Mentor team members, provide growth opportunities, and maintain engagement.
- Support the team through regular one-on-ones, setting priorities, collaborating with other teams, and resolving conflicts.
- Guide the team in making sound technical decisions, coordinate work with product management and design peers.
