  • Assistant Director EL1 equivalent $600 + per day + super

The Evidence and Practice Leadership Branch plays a crucial role in ensuring that agencies policies, practices, and priorities are grounded in reliable evidence.

Their mission is to enhance evidence-based decision-making within the agency and shape disability research to maximise its impact on the scheme.

They are dedicated to collating and conducting research, evaluating key agency programs, and translating research knowledge for their customers and stakeholders.


About the role


As the EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation, you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of internal services by conducting research and evaluation using various methodologies to inform Agency decisions.

This role offers reasonable autonomy and requires both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy for effective implementation.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to scope, deliver, and govern evaluations.
  • Collect and analyse quantitative, qualitative, and survey data, coordinating activities within the Research and Evaluation Branch.
  • Ensure evaluation adheres to appropriate guidelines, procedures, standards, and ethics requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports and summaries for stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within the Research and Evaluation Branch.
  • Design and conduct research projects, engaging with individuals with disabilities and diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Communicate and support the implementation of research findings.
  • Other duties as required.

About You

To thrive in this role, you need:

  • Experience using sophisticated methods, including quantitative and qualitative approaches, with a focus on participant involvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to scope, deliver, and govern evaluations.
  • Experience in delivering endtoend formative and impact evaluations that drive change.
  • Academic or evaluation qualifications.
  • Experience designing evaluations aligned with stakeholders' and Agency's needs, including producing evaluation logics.
  • Must be an
