The Payments Settlements (PS) Department is responsible for the settlement of interbank obligations arising from the exchange of payments in Australia, the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the settlement of the Reserve Bank's own trading activities.


Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of the area, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes.
  • Manage the implementation of changes and associated testing of vendor systems such as SWIFT and Sterling. Manage the nonfunctional testing of changes to RITS, FSS and other PS systems maintaining their high degree of quality, resiliency, and reliability.
  • Lead and develop individuals to achieve area outcomes effectively and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with responsible teams to embed, influence and lead change that impacts processes, people, and systems in the department. A key focus of the role will be to oversee the planning, evaluation and implementation of a nonfunctional automation testing framework required to deliver regular rapid changes to PS systems covering all environments.

Your background

  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence, collaborate and communicate strongly with key stakeholders across the Bank and externally.
  • Extensive experience in the planning, management, support, and testing of nonfunctional changes to mission critical systems across various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc).
  • Demonstrated speciality and innovation in establishing nonfunctional automation test frameworks and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of payments, banking, SWIFT, settlement systems or similar mission critical systems.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring skills to develop team members.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Agile project methodology, as well as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes, will be highly regarded.
  • Project Management and Testing qualifications/accreditations.
