About the roleCaterpillar is looking for an enthusiastic validation lead to work on automated robotic systems operating in a challenging underground operational environment.
As a validation lead, the incumbent will work with cross-functional teams in product definition, engineering delivery, and customer support to ensure quality and fit-for-purpose product outcomes.
Job Duties:
Provide program management leadership with documentation to inform program gate reviews for validation and compliance activities.
Represent validation engineering (as a discipline stakeholder) throughout the MineStar for underground systems lifecycle, from product need definition to Test and Evaluation (T&E).
Develop key program definition documentation including test concepts, validation requirements, and validation plan related to the Test and Evaluation Master Plan.
Lead the collaboration between various test and execution teams to ensure prioritization, adequate test coverage, and risk communication.
Support the planning and execution of Caterpillar lead test and evaluation activities at proving grounds and at customer locations.
Engage with customers, Caterpillar dealers, and mining solutions team members through periodic product demonstrations.
Key Skills Desired:
For a bachelor's degree in an accredited technical Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a validation lead in the development of complex systems having applied systems engineering methodologies.
Experience validating complex systems involving hardware and software in a challenging environment. Demonstrate excellent communication, analytical skills, and the ability to perform complex assignments. Strong interpersonal, technical leadership, and communication skills are required.Strong networking skills to enable obtaining resources and cooperation needed to remove roadblocks to ensure the success of required activities.
Ability to write and speak clearly about a technical subject matter. Experience in documentation and revision control in various forms (git, wiki, or others). Experience in test and evaluation toolsets for definition, planning, and reporting.Compensation & Benefits:
