We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Child Protection Partner to join our team. This role will provide support to centres managing safeguarding children concerns, child protection matters, allegations of child abuse, neglect and harm and potentially harmful situations involving children. They will ensure the organisation complies with reporting obligations as identified in the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, state-based child protection legislation, state-based reportable conduct schemes, and child safe frameworks. The Child Protection Partner will follow processes to enable the necessary reporting, risk mitigation strategies, investigations, actions, follow up and close out of safeguarding children complaints, concerns and incidents.

Your Impact:

  • Prepare incident notification reports and documentation to ensure the organisation complies with reporting obligations as identified in the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
  • Assist in the reporting, and meeting of legislative obligations related to safeguarding complaint, concerns and incidents, including reportable conduct schemes across Australia
  • Send documentation, as required, to Regulators and provide outcome reports as necessary
  • Provide support to centres to ensure safeguarding complaints, concerns and incidents are managed in line with organisational policy and procedure to enable appropriate reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, follow up and close out of child protection-related matters
  • Provide advice to centre staff on reporting obligations as they apply in each state/territory
  • Provide support to centres to ensure situations are managed in line with organisational policy and procedure to enable appropriate reporting, risk mitigation strategies, investigations, actions, follow up and close out of safeguarding children complaints, concerns and potentially harmful situations involving children
  • Build the knowledge and capacity of centre-based staff to respond to safeguarding children complaints, concerns and potentially harmful situations involving children.
  • Coach and support centre-based staff to take potential and actual child protection matters seriously, and to respond promptly and thoroughly

You'll bring to the table:

  • Working with Children's Check (relevant to state or territory)
  • Previous experience in a customer-service focused team environment with a strong background in telephone-based issues management
  • Previous Early Learning experience (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Child Safe Organisation principles as described by the Human Rights Commission and child safe schemes
  • Experience and proficiency in the management of child protection concerns and incidents, investigations, and case management (desirable)
  • Relevant demonstrated experience and working knowledge of Education and Care National Law and Regulations (desirable)
