Responsibilities:

  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and raising awareness of regulatory and compliance responsibilities.
  • Leading a team of Compliance experts.
  • Providing trusted advice and continuous communication to Risk Owners/Divisional Management on compliance issues and processes aligned with the Board approved risk appetite and Risk Management Framework.
  • Contributing to enhancing governance and the compliance structure.
  • Offering guidance on implementing and advocating corporate compliance and policies, working closely with the Second Line of Defence on division-specific compliance matters.
  • Ensuring up-to-date operational compliance plans and assessment activities are followed.
  • Leading and devising business strategies for upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Assisting management in formulating action plans to tackle violations.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Preferred).
  • Extensive leadership background in risk management, compliance, or internal audit.
  • Demonstrated technical grasp of control design and operational efficiency.
  • Proven experience in evaluating risk levels and creating and implementing risk mitigation plans.
  • Knowledge of process and management control design along with a deep understanding of operational and compliance risks.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and partner with senior stakeholders.
  • Skill in navigating complexity and ambiguity, offering practical commercial solutions to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, legislation, and prudential standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
