About the role:This role seeks a General Manager to lead the Victorian business operations efficiently, overseeing strategic and budgetary targets. Based in Derrimut with management of Bendigo facilities, you will lead a dedicated team working towards expanding our presence in the modular construction sector. Responsibilities include managing commercial and operational performance, Victorian P&L, sales, production, design, and construction activities. You will focus on profitability, aligning with business objectives, employee development, and maintaining a "Zero Harm" culture.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to team members
- Motivate and influence business performance
- Implement practices to enhance client service
- Ensure effective communication between functional areas
- Accountability for state operations P&L
- Oversee finance activities compliance with objectives
- Review project performance and report concerns
- Facilitate career development and succession planning
- Engage with Executive for overall objectives
- Submit management reports accurately and timely
- Contribute to annual Business plan management
- Approve team expenditure within authority
- Control work hours and HSEQ performance
- Collaborate with departments and stakeholders
- Provide production advice to managers, employees, and clients
About You:
We are looking for a General Manager with strong leadership skills to drive high-quality outcomes through a multidisciplinary team. You should be strategic, analytical, and capable of executing strategies against financial budgets. Ideally, you have exposure to construction methods and industry experience. Your leadership should promote collaboration, integrity, and accountability within the operation.
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years' Senior Management experience in construction or similar
- Modular construction experience desirable
- MBA advantageous
- Project Management or construction-related qualification
- Understanding of project management, building codes, and methodologies
- Financial acumen with P&L responsibility
- Strategic mindset with planning and execution abilities
- Coaching skills to lead and mentor teams
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word & Outlook
