The position can be based anywhere in NSW and, in this role you will provide executive leadership and direction to the people portfolio, delivering on critical agency outcomes through the strategic and operational positioning and alignment of our people and organisational priorities. You will be accountable for making sure we have people in all of our roles, short, medium and long term workforce planning/management, onboarding, training and ongoing workforce competency. You will develop our technical and non-technical competency training collateral and ensure we have the right processes and practices in place to ensure our workforce has the right skills, knowledge and experience necessary to perform their jobs effectively and safely.

About you

You are an experienced and seasoned people and culture professional:

  • You will have demonstrated experience building capability within a high reliability, frontline service delivery operation.
  • You bring deep experience in workforce planning, onboarding and workforce management.
  • You are experienced in creating, delivering and maintaining clear outcomes focused on the delivery of competency framework processes and outcomes to ensure our staff are the best at what they do.
  • You possess experience and understanding of industrial, political and industrial environments, within a highly regulated operational workforce.
  • You possess advanced advocacy and interpersonal communication skills with an intuitive ability to understand and drive performance, productivity, and engagement.
  • You will have demonstrated experience building, leading, motivating and setting strategic direction of very accomplished teams where stakeholder management and support is required for success.
  • You will understand the balance of addressing internal customer requirements whilst adhering to other regulatory, policy, government and operational conditions.
  • You have the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and types of audiences.
  • You bring experience with succession planning, and developing and growing staff for future leadership roles.
  • You have experience in deploying new technologies to assist in the delivery and ongoing maintenance of competencies.
  • You will be effective in consolidating material and information from multiple sources and disseminating this information across a geographically dispersed workforce.
