  • BH150342The Legal Services Commission is looking for a System Tester (ASO5 level) to join their team as soon as possible for a period of 6 months with a possibility of an extension.

The primary purpose of the System Tester is to co-ordinate the testing program in the Commission's transition to the CaseHQ system.

This encompasses the development of relevant test strategies and plans and identifying resources required to complete the required testing services in line with project timeframes.

Experience

  • Experience in testing disciplines and supporting technologies i.e System, Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance.
  • Experience in manual and automated testing tools.
  • Experience in raising, tracking and retesting defects and complying with Defects Management Plans.
  • Experience in the operations and effective use of Service Desk management tools.
  • Experience in planning and prioritise work to meet deadlines and competing demands.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
The System Tester will be responsible for the provision of timely and efficient service delivery to the Commission in the areas of:

  • Understanding the functional and business requirements with a view to prepare appropriate test scenarios, including:
  • Reviewing documentation.
  • Interacting with business units to understand requirements.
  • Analysing user stories and/or use cases/requirements.
  • Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, product design, and potential problems.
  • Collaborating closely with other team members and vendor.
  • Developing good working knowledge of the system by undertaking online training and/or handson system familiarisation
  • Developing test strategies that are consistent, repeatable, and ensure that the testing process will meet expected Commission quality, performance and security outcomes and objectives.
  • Developing the Test Plan which outlines the scope, objectives, and approach to the testing of the system across multiple environments including web and mobile.
  • Developing regression testing strategies to ensure that the retesting of functionality that failed to pass in earlier rounds of testing is performed effectively including and that changes do not adversely impact functionality already tested and passed.
  • Managing the testing of (any) approved change requests that are introduced after the signoff of the test plan. This includes the creation of new test cases or the revision of existing test cases to reflect the change.
  • Analysing test results particularly impacts on database, reporting, business requirements and general usability.
  • Providing regular detailed reporting that describe outcomes and overall progress of the test program, adherence to project outcomes and deadlines, registers of risks, issues, and decisions, and other reporting and documentation to technical and nontechnical colleagues.
  • Identifying and providing advise for process improvement through software or systems within the Commission.
  • Complying with all Commission policies and procedures to ensure professional standards of conduct are maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with persons from a wide range of backgrounds including differing socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Actively participate and contribute to response and safe work practices by complying with WHS legislation, policies and procedures.
