About the role:


Kinetic IT are currently looking for a Principal Security Consultant with an expert understanding across security GRC and a keen interest in developing a growing security practice.

In this role, you'll be involved in consulting engagements with our existing customers, activity scheduling in relation to scope of work for our junior consultants and possess a strong governance and business mindset to work with the wider Kinetic IT teams.

If you were here today you'll have:

  • In-depth knowledge of information security, including threat intelligence, incident response, risk management, and security architecture.
  • Ability to lead security projects, provide guidance and mentorship to team members, and drive the implementation of security solutions.
  • Ability to develop and implement a longterm security strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex security concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the organization's business operations and the ability to identify and prioritize risk areas.
  • Ability to identify and analyse complex security issues, develop solutions, and make recommendations to clients.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies, threats, and regulations, and be able to adapt to changing security landscape.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including ISO 27001, NIST SP 80053, and PCI DSS.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
  • Currently possess Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). Qualifications such as OSCP or CEH are advantageous.
  • Must be an Australian citizen and be willing to undertake Security Clearances such as NPC, Baseline clearance or NV1 clearance.
