CSSD Instrument Technician

  • 24 hour / 7 days per week rotating roster
  • Part Time Ongoing Role available
  • Rotate through all areas of the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD)

RMH are seeking an experienced Instrument Technician with months of CSSD Experience who has completed Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation, to work in a busy trauma hospital. Our department is 24 hours, 7 days per week rotating roster, and also processes for other hospitals including Peter Maccallum Cancer Centre.

Your Opportunity:

  • Collect, clean and decontaminate reusable and semi-critical medical equipment used by the operating suite and clinical units, on a daily basis.
  • Load and unload ultrasonic instrument washers, dryers and sterilisers according to instructions.
  • Work co-operatively within the team to ensure the needs of our patients and their families and carers are met in accordance with the The Royal Melbourne Hospital values

About You:

  • holds an Instrument Technician Qualification
  • has greater than twelve (12) months post qualification experience (full-time equivalent) as an Instrument Technician
  • Posses a sound knowledge of AS 4187.
  • Ensuring that clinical practice is evidence based and responsive to stakeholder requirements
