Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, upgrade and rehabilitate garden beds and open space assets in accordance to service specifications and be multi skilled across the various Parks Services to meet operational priorities
  • Undertake skilled work. such as plant ID, garden bed design and pest and disease knowledge.
  • The proper operation and maintenance of machinery and plant.
  • Safe and competent operation of vehicle up to 4.5 tonnes GCM.
  • Safe and competent operation of light mechanical plant.
  • Estimate and order materials, and work to plans.
  • Set up Road Side Traffic Management

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of indigenous plants and the maintenance of water sensitive urban design projects, and bushland areas.
  • Broad horticultural knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience in gardening work.
  • Advanced certificate in horticultural or other related discipline.
  • Current drivers licence for up to 4.5 tonne GC or willingness to obtain.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • MR truck drivers licence
  • Must be capable of physical labour
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Willing to undertake and maintain a current National Criminal Records Check and Working With Children Check
