Job Description

The Assistant Director, an experienced Senior Educator, supports the Centre Director in the daily operations and overall success of the Centre. The role involves contributing to the team's efforts in delivering high-quality education and care, while also providing mentorship and guidance.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director to join our team at the Richmond Centre. Our center is designed to prioritize children's needs, focusing on nature and play-based learning. Our facilities are vibrant, equipped with innovative educational tools and natural materials flowing into an outdoor area.

About the role

  • Collaborate closely with the Centre Director to manage daily operations, stepping in when needed
  • Establish positive and genuine relationships with team members, children, and families
  • Utilize your expertise across different rooms to design and implement educational programs
  • Listen actively, seek feedback, and incorporate suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, organizational abilities, and time management
  • Focus on enhancing quality and ensuring adherence to Green Leaves policies
  • Show initiative, motivation, flexibility, and maturity in your approach
  • Available for part-time or full-time shifts between 6.30 am and 6:30 pm

Essential Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent, or an Early Childhood Teaching qualification
  • Current certifications in Senior First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma
  • Valid Working with Children Check, Blue Card, or Safety Screening
  • Up-to-date Child Protection Training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize efficiently
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Director or Lead Educator, ready for a leadership role
  • Familiarity with Qikkids and Educa (or similar platforms)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Facebook
