Aboutthe role

This positionsupports the delivery of sectional and team objectives throughcompleting a range of assigned maintenance and functionalactivities across multiple disciplines. As the public image of thesection, this role is critical in maintaining Council's imageas efficient, effective, professional and customerfocused.

The Park andOpen Space Team provides delivery of maintenance activities relatedto Townsville's existing public infrastructure within parks, openspaces, including cemeteries. These areas provide a range ofservices including recreational and cultural activities for bothresidents and visitors across the Townsville Region.

This positionwill complete a range of assigned maintenance and functionalactivities which includes the maintenance and operation of CouncilsIrrigation systems. This includes but is not limited maintainingsprinkler & sub-soil drip systems, pipework solenoid valves,minor wiring & cabling repairs & fault finding & theoperation of Councils automated Irrinet control system. You willalso drive manual light trucks which includes loading, unloadingand tying down loads. You will need to be physically fit to performthe variety of work.

Aboutyou

The desiredapplicant for this role will obtain the following:

Current unrestricted Queensland "C" class manual driver's licence (essential). Current unrestricted Queensland "MR" class licence or the ability to attain (desirable) Construction Safety (White Card QLD - Course in General Safety Induction for the Construction Industry) or ability to attain. Queensland Government Traffic Controller Accreditation for Traffic Management Implementation (TMI), or the ability to attain. Certificate associated with the successful completion of the Safe Working Near Live Exposed Parts training course, or ability to attain. Child Suitability (Blue Card), or ability to attain (role specific only, not required for all roles).
