As a Junior Voice AI Engineer, you'll be hands-on, tackling the technical intricacies of our voice platform while collaborating with seasoned professionals to optimize its performance. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of engineering tasks aimed at maintaining a robust and efficient voice infrastructure.

Your day in the life of a Voice Platform Specialist at Optus

  • Assist in the management and monitoring of the voice platform's health and performance, contributing to the resolution of technical issues as they arise, whilst engaging in proactive analysis of platform metrics, finding opportunities for optimisation and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless user experience for voice services, implementing and managing user access controls based on specific roles and responsibilities.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis efforts for voice-related incidents, proposing preventive solutions for future occurrences, and supervise routing performance and efficiencies, suggesting improvements to improve customer experience and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement platform improvements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and support capacity planning efforts by applying historical data and industry trends to forecast voice traffic demand.
  • Assist in evaluating new technologies with vendors and service providers, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and offer input on solution design options for IVR changes and improvements by staying on top of new technologies and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with external parties on technology integration projects to enhance the customer experience, such as Google CCAI, SQL databases, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD tools

What makes you perfect for the role?

  • Professional degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field, together with relevant internship or work experience in a technical role within the telecommunications or IT industry can provide practical knowledge and skills vital for the position.
  • Comprehensive understanding of voice communication technologies, including VoIP protocols, SIP, RTP, and telephony systems with solid knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, call routing principles, and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP).
  • Good grasp of voice platform management principles, including monitoring, configuration, and maintenance tasks complimented with problem solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues related to voice platforms and networks.
  • Solid level of communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and business partners. and good ability to document procedures, defects, and enhancements accurately to maintain clear records and facilitate knowledge and skill growth.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends in voice technology and telecommunications.
