We are looking for A Trainee Vehicle Fire Suppression (PEFS Technician) to join our team, responsible for providing product support and technical services within the Fire Suppression industry in the Western Australian region.

About the Role

As a Trainee Fire Suppression Technician, you will be required to eventually install, service and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems within the Perth Area and Pilbara region when required.

We are looking for someone who is committed to customer service, teamwork and adapting to the role quickly – potentially working in a new industry. Full training will be provided but you may come from a similar background or have trade experience that would complement this role, but your attitude will play a large part in your application and your success.

We have blue chip mining clients that will allow you a broad scope of work and enable you to gain experience and expertise in a wide variety of different systems, vehicles and products. On job training will be provided for specific client systems.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Effectively manage available time and resources and be proactive in problem solving and troubleshooting.
Achieve full compliance to service delivery and procedural requirements, including quality, EH&S, Ethics and Trade practices.
Identify, service, and repair fire protection and safety systems and equipment in accordance.
Report work progress and performance by completing productivity and key performance indicator reports.

About You

  • Current driver's license
  • Cert ll in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing (preferred)
  • Accredited by the Fire Protection Association (FPA) (preferred)
  • Relevant trade qualifications such as Diesel mechanic or Auto electrical (preferred)
  • Direct knowledge and exposure to fire suppression systems is also preferred but not critical to this role, VOC and RTO training will be available in house.
  • Training will be provided to perform fault diagnosis, maintain, and install Fire Suppression systems.
  • Able to work effectively either in a team environment or autonomously.
  • Strong customer relation skills and the ability to effectively work within a team.
  • Be highly developed in your communication and interpersonal skill
  • Mechanically minded.
  • Able to assist with machine audits/inspections
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to undertake at times a very physical role
  • Knowledge of Australian standards and codes relevant to the fire industry
  • Able to pass full pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screen
  • Have a valid National Police Clearance or able to obtain and maintain
  • Flexible to work with customer requirements, procedures, and safety policies.
  • Positive attitude and a high level of determination to achieve targets set for customer satisfaction.
