We have an opportunity based in Merredin for an experienced Electrical Dual Tradesperson for a permanent position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of electrical and instrumentation services including installation, testing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of all Water Corporation's assets throughout the Region.

We are seeking an individual who takes ownership of their work area and is able to work effectively independently but also contributes to a positive team environment and safety culture.

What you'll be doing:

You'll be responsible for the provision of electrical and instrumentation services including scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance and installation, testing, fault finding, repair and enhance reliability of electrical and instrumentation assets within the Water and Wastewater industry. You're always looking to develop your skills and with water Corporation, you can take advantage of the recognised industry training and a structured career pathway and your eagerness to mentor and train others, including apprentices, is also valued.

You will be willing to Participate in the Standby (on call) roster where you will provide breakdown and after-hours support services.

Main Duties will involve:

·Performs scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance on High Voltage assets including HV switching units and Motors.

·Performs complex isolation and shutdowns

·Complex problem solving of water systems, wastewater systems and chemical dosing systems

Key skills and experience:

We are seeking an Electrical Dual Trade qualified candidate, ideally possessing trade experience in water supply and wastewater services with the ability to repair and overhaul equipment, such as pumps, gearboxes and valves.

Your dedication to Occupational Health and Safety including hazard identification and well developed communication skills are essential for this position along with the following:

·Electrical Trade Certificate

·Instrumentation Certificate (desirable but not essential)

·High Voltage switching Certificate (desirable but not essential)

·Relevant High-Risk Licences (desirable but not essential)

·Current Drivers Licence

·Demonstrated experience in PLC, SCADA and telemetry systems. (desirable but not essential)

·Trade experience in water supply and wastewater services (desirable but not essential)

·Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health requirements including hazard identification

About the town:

Located 260 kms east of Perth, Merredin is the largest town in the central wheatbelt area and has everything for the local and tourist alike. The town has preschools and a childcare centre as well as primary schools, secondary school and a TAFE Campus. The district is serviced by several medical centres and allied health professionals and has a fully upgraded district hospital with modern equipment. The town has a good rail and road transport system with regular services between Perth and Kalgoorlie.In the Merredin townsite there are several supermarkets and specially shops, including a cinema, hobby shop and cafes, a few restaurants and takeaway food outlets. There is a strong interest in sport and Merredin has many playing fields and recreation venues for sports such as football, hockey, netball, basketball, lawn bowls, cricket, golf, squash, swimming, a rifle range and aero club. There are plenty of great day trips that can be done from Merredin to explore the surrounding district and towns.
