Who You Are

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Manager of Technical Support Services, you will apply your expertise gained in the sports & exercise, physiotherapy, or allied health fields to provide advanced technical support as described below:

  • Professional technical support for organizing practical classes, including setup, upkeep, and provision of teaching and learning spaces;
  • Demonstrations on the effective utilization of exercise equipment and materials, techniques and procedures of specialized equipment, software, and online services to staff and students; and
  • Analysis of technical information and data, participation in enhancing existing and new practical experiments, and supporting academic research activities as instructed.
  • Appropriate and safe handling and setup of anatomical models and Anatomage tables for educational purposes.

Requirements for Success

Key to excelling in this role is your specialized technical support and proficiency in equipment, demonstrations, and safety within the allied health field. You should be an enthusiastic and driven individual who enjoys collaborating with a team of professionals. Additionally, you should have:

  • A Diploma or Degree in a related area with relevant work experience (or an equivalent mix of relevant experience and/or education/training);
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with laboratory equipment utilized in sports & exercise, and allied health disciplines like physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and anatomy;
  • Demonstrated capability to interpret, advocate, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety guidelines, standards, and practices; and
  • An ability to contribute to enhancing service delivery through continuous process review and implementation.
