About the role


The National Advisor - Independent Living will partner with senior Executive Teams and Regional Chief Executive Officers (Regional CEOs) to provide strategic advice, deliver on opportunities to optimise performance and enhance excellence in care and resident experience across Independent Living.

The role will inform the decision making, development, implementation and evaluation of program and policy initiatives for Independent Living.


The position will also lead the development of models to improve the impact and outcome of the programs, ensuring alignment with Calvary's Strategic Intent and Calvary's national approach to digital strategy initiatives.


The National Advisor - Independent Living will play a pivotal role in advising Calvary's senior executive to realise business opportunities to grow our service offering, optimise performance, integrate across other services and enhance delivery of resident centred support to ageing in place.

This position will be a key contributor to regional continuous improvement initiatives, collaboration and living the Spirit of Calvary.


The role will ensure that our services maintain a focus on delivering on individual needs within the Independent Living portfolio through a commitment to innovation, governance and continuous improvement, as well as the responsibility for leading and implementing complex service delivery reform, managing stakeholder relations and improving performance to satisfy the terms of funding and government service agreements and needs of consumers.


Some of your main duties will include:
Support the Independent Living teams with the development of businesses cases relating to capital projects, introduction of new equipment or a new service;
Contribute to the achievement of the strategic directions via industry scanning and identification of best practice opportunities;
Identify and deliver on business opportunities to optimise delivery of Independent Living services through a focus on consistent practice and client experience;
Provide support and insight into investment/divestment strategies across regions;
Conduct benchmarking and utilise business trends and data to identify opportunity and risk;
Identify operational and business development opportunities, linked to models of care and quality outcomes, and drive implementation in partnership with National, Regional and Independent Living teams;
Support the implementation and optimisation of information technology communications and other innovations in care, whilst managing risk and consumer expectations;
Analyse and respond to business information, in particular financial and activity data, to identify underperformance within programs and provide recommendations for operational improvements that enhance program performance

About you

Demonstrated track record of achievement whilst working in the independent Living industry;
5 years+ experience in area of expertise (Aged, Community, Hospital);
The ability to drive outcomes and results through strong interpersonal skills;
Tertiary qualifications in Health and/or Business

Solid understanding of financial metrics and concepts associated with management and oversight of health care facilities;
Demonstrated experience liaising with and responding to applicable Government regulators;
Experience in effectively articulating business improvement opportunities through the utilisation of reporting, business writing and project documentation;
Effective approach to risk management and mitigation;
Strong analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
