Our four locations provide a range of veterinary services including; routine consultations, wellness check ups and health care advice, diagnostic services as well as full hospital and intensive care facilities for emergencies, routine and major surgery and illnesses.
We are looking for someone with a passion for animal care to join the team on a casual basis as our new Animal Caretaker, working across all 4 locations.
Position Involves:
- Tending and maintaining cat boarding facilities
- Caring for all cat boarders
- Administering cat boarder medications as directed
- Maintaining hospital cleanliness
- Preparing the hospital and wards for the incoming patients
- Cleaning cages and patients where required throughout the day
- Feeding patients according to instructions
- Ensuring hospital patients are walked at the required times
- Assisting the veterinary nurses with their duties
- Answering of phones and booking appointments
- Assisting with the daily washing of bedding
- Animal handling under supervision
- Monitoring patients for any unusual, concerning behaviour
Applicant must have:
- Certificate II Animal Studies qualifications or higher
- Ability to effectively work independently but also as part of a larger team
- Significant experience handling animals including administrating medication
- Extraordinary customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- A proactive and hardworking attitude
- An eye for detail
- Common sense and a positive, solutionbased approach
- Current driver's license
