About the team


The Infrastructure & Place division is a trusted partner to our clients, developing and delivering smart, integrated and sustainable infrastructure and places that are valued by our customers and communities.


The Sydney Gateway project is part of Transport for NSW's strategy to increase the capacity of the infrastructure and services in the area surrounding Sydney Airport at Mascot.

Sydney Gateway will provide a high-capacity connection from Sydney Airport and Port Botany to the new WestConnex St Peters Interchange.


The project is a key element of the NSW Government's transport vision for NSW, connecting Sydney Airport to the wider motorway network.

Future Transport Strategy 2056 is the NSW Government's 40-year vision for transport outcomes in NSW.

The Sydney Gateway project is a key part of this strategy, supporting safe, efficient and reliable journeys for people and freight.


This historic project will change the way people move around Sydney Airport and shape the future of the city's road network.


The opportunity


Reporting to the Project Director, the Interface Lead is responsible for overseeing and implementing an effective relationship and issues management strategy across major businesses, utilities and other infrastructure owner interfaces.

With the objective of achieving optimum outcomes for the project and interface parties.

The role works in partnership with project leadership, the project team and the contractor to facilitate harmonious and effective interactions across various disciplines.


Key accountabilities include (but not limited to):

  • Lead the development and implementation of an Interface Management Plan to achieve optimum outcomes, including minimising the impact of construction upon third party operational businesses.
  • Lead the team in identifying and engaging with key third party stakeholders affected by project works whilst implementing measures to maintain effective relationships throughout the project.
  • Implement working groups to enable third party related issues resolution and monitoring the ongoing effectiveness.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of regular, succinct reporting to ensure all parties are sufficiently informed to enable appropriate decision making.
  • With a commercially oriented approach, ensure best practice underpins all activities within the requirements of ethical, government and legislative boundaries that are acceptable in an environment of intense public scrutiny.

About you


You are a technically capable, commercially astute, strategic and collaborative Interface leader, who is highly skilled at engaging and influencing multiple stakeholder groups.


Your impressive career to date should demonstrate your relevant & applied experience in the development, delivery and construction of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Having previously held senior roles within projects and delivery.


As a seasoned Interface professional, your experience across infrastructure design and construction processes should include design management, construction methodologies, authority approvals, quality processes and safety management to name a few.


You should be able to demonstrate how you have managed and influenced clear and identifiable improvements in the implementation and delivery of complex third party agreements.

Your leadership, project planning and management skills should be self-evident across project delivery.


Having the natural ability to engage, influence and manage multiple senior stakeholders in large and complex environments will stand you in good stead in successfully navigating through government processes across sensitive scenarios.

As a strong engaging people leader, you will have the natural ability to motivate, develop and lead teams.
