Program Delivery & Operations (PDO) is responsible for planning and delivering value-for-money transport infrastructure programs and projects; ensuring the safe management of TMR assets; and operating the state's road network.

PDO is a branch of the Infrastructure Management and Delivery Division (IMD) which delivers, maintains, manages and operates transport infrastructure across Queensland.

Key responsibilities The purpose of the Senior Engineer role is to project manage the delivery of multiple road infrastructure projects.

The role involves providing technical expertise, administering contracts and providing support to the design, construction and maintenance processes.
Some of your responsibilities will include: Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved

  • Act as the Administrator and Administrator's Representative in the administration of contracts, review contract documents, analyse offers, and programpreconstruction, construction, and maintenance activities.
  • Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
  • Apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects including quality management.
  • Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
About you Mandatory qualifications and conditions

  • A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
(If your qualification is from an overseas institution, the Australian assessment of qualification equivalence must also be provided) Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.

  • C Class driver's licence,
  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Requirements of the role

  • Demonstrates sound governance - Demonstrates respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks by consistently operating to key standards.

Engineering Operations:
Has extensive experience in engineering operations, managing processes, systems and people while providing input into operations or systems.

Project Management:
Thorough knowledge of project management principals and methodology with an ability to coordinate and manage project performance.

Contract Administration:
Proficient in contract management, ensuring adherence to construction and maintenance best practices

Locations:
Bundaberg & Gympie.

The District covers an area of about 48,599 km2, or around 2.8% of Queensland.

It extends from Kalpowar in the north to Nanango in the south and from Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Gympie in the east to west of Eidsvold.
