Position includes:

  • Training on the Thermawood retrofit double glazing system.
  • Work on residential jobs involving the modification of existing timber windows and doors.
  • Work on a variety of different timber window & door types
  • Design, inspect, and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings.
  • Provide and adhere to precise measurements and installation onsite.
  • Cut, shape and smooth materials such as wood, timber, metals, plastic laminate etc. according to measurements.
  • Opportunity to learn a specialized unique system developed & used only by Thermawood.
  • Some travel when required, incl. accommodation & WAFH allowance.

Skill Requirements:

  • Certificate 3/Diploma or above or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years Practical Experience of similar role
  • Glazier with experience, preferably (but not essential) with timber windows / doors Knowledge of carpentry and general building maintenance
  • Competent use of a wide variety of hand and power tools, incl: Routers, Circular saws, Multi tools, impact drivers, etc.
  • Workplace safety systems including SWMS and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • English verbal and listening skills with the ability to follow instructions and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Have attention to detail and can work with precision.
  • Able to communicate with clients, to understand requirements and respond to change orders
  • Cutting, preparing, assembling and installing of windows & doors
  • Repair and /or modification of existing windows and doors
  • Identifying and recommending solutions for site problems
  • Ensuring adherence to building codes and regulations
  • Ensuring adherence to local job site safety rules and regulations
  • Effectively utilising different types of materials based on adaptability
  • Effectively utilising methods, tools, and equipment used in glazing of windows and doors.

Salary:
From $70,000.00 per year
