Designer to join a dynamic team at FINE-DAY.


Reporting to the Creative Director, this role is responsible for the sourcing, development and ranging of the Home, Textile & Accessories categories.

This includes liaising with external suppliers, sourcing products from local and

overseas suppliers.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Source, range and sketch and in conjunction with the Planner & Design Manager, quantify the home / têxtile
and accessories collection across all classes, ensuring that the product mix is balanced

  • Communicate and liaise with factories, suppliers and agents in order to develop and produce required
products

  • Attend supplier product development meetings
  • Negotiate best possible costs with factories, suppliers and agents in order to achieve first margin targets
  • Maximise sales within season by reordering bestsellers as required and maintaining stock of key lines in
conjunction with Planner

  • Ensure that all styles placed maintain FINE-DAY quality and styling standards, and reinforce the brand position
  • Maintain a strong awareness of competitors and marketplace

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Minimum 35 years' experience in a similar design role.
  • Relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design or Fashion & Textiles is preferred
  • Comprehensive Adobe Suite knowledge, proficient in illustrator.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience
  • Technical Knowledge/Textile Knowledge
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience liaising with offshore vendors
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Onsite in St Kilda Rd offices 5 days per week.
