Customs Broker to join our
DHL Global Forwarding
Team based in our
Perth, WA office.

This is a full-time opportunity reporting directly to the Ocean Freight CDZ Manager.

_Overall Role Purpose_
As a
Customs Broker you will be responsible for:

  • Supports the CDZ Manager in CDZ operations such as tax and duty declaration.
  • Acts as Liaison with Custom Authorities and administration matters.
  • Acts as key contact for allocated customers.
  • Check, lodge and pay Customs entries.
  • Assist Classifiers / Compilers with entry preparation, queries, etc.
  • Arrange Barrier Clearances.
  • Ensure customs entries are completed in a timely manner.

_Skills / Qualifications_

  • Minimum two (2) to five (5) year's experience in the freight forwarding industry and/or customs industry.
  • Possesses relevant Customs qualification
  • ACS licence. (Mandatory requirement)
  • Previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or oceanfreight / Import operational roles (advantageous)
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification i.e. Bachelor's Degree in Management, Logistics, or Industry related fields. (Advantageous)
  • Sound knowledge of freight forwarding and customs general
  • Full time Australian work rights
  • Good knowledge of forwarding business, DGF products (OFR) and business systems
  • Ability to identify and meet customer needs in a pleasant and friendly manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good telephone and Email skills
  • Commercial attitude
  • Good knowledge in English (verbal/written).
  • Results driven and attention to details.
  • High degree of written, verbal, and organisational skills.
  • Proven handson experience in used accounting system is preferred.
  • Good experience in MS Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, charts, etc.) required.
  • Strong analytical skills
