ABOUT THE ROLE
Barker College is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Studies Teacher based at our Hornsby campus.


This will be a permanent role, to commence ASAP in Term 3, but a commencement for the start of the 2024 academic year could be considered.

Our Commercial Studies Department provides teaching across the following disciplines:

  • Economics
  • Legal Studies
  • Business Studies
  • Commerce (Stage 5)


Innovative teaching practice and a high level of competence in the use of ICT in teaching and learning are expected, as well as the ability to cater to different learning styles.

Strength in Business Studies would be advantageous.

As a member of the Commercial Studies department you will be required to:

  • Contribute to the pedagogy of the department.
  • Develop and administer regular formative and summative assessment with a view to moving the learner forward.
  • Remain up to date with contemporary issues in the teaching of commercial studies disciplines to ensure accuracy of classroom practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the development of resources and professional development.
  • Support departmental initiatives at the direction of the Head of Department
