The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence.

We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.

Safer In The Home (SITH) provides personal and property safety assessments and basic security upgrades designed to ensure that victim survivors at lower than 'serious risk' as per the MARAM Framework live safely at home after family violence, specifically:

  • Administration of the SITH program in accordance with Program Guidelines and the Commonwealth funding and service agreement requirements and that of the MYER Foundation
  • Provide risk assessment, safety planning and comprehensive case management and referral for women and their children
The role you could play


We are seeking a value driven and proactive Safer in the Home Program Worker to be responsible for providing Safer in the Home intake and case management coordination to 'at risk' and 'elevated risk' (MARAM) women and accompanying children victim survivors of domestic and family violence nationally.


This role will have capacity to accommodate working from home arrangements with the National SITH team primarily reporting from The Salvation Army's Windsor office.

This is a fixed term part time position, 30.4 hours per week to 30 June 2023.

You will have
- ** A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent formal learning

  • Extensive experience working with women and children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence
  • Extensive experience working in case management
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Experience working in collaboration with other organisations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of FV including context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations and legislation.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • WHS knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation.
  • Flexibility with hours at times to meet the operational requirements of the role
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
  • Evidence of up to date vaccine status dependent on requirements.
**MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
