The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education) portfolio supports the University's Student and Education Strategic Plan to achieve its strategic goal to provide an outstanding education experience for every student, leading to its graduates being innovators and fully prepared for their future careers.

The priority areas of portfolio are academic leadership, digital experience and inclusive education and student support.


Within the parameters of the role which has its focus on the teaching activities of the University, University Preparation Pathway (UPP) Programs and broader DVC (Education) portfolio academic positions will have a higher proportion of their time devoted to teaching, student engagement and success, academic co-ordination and educational leadership.

The Role


As the head of University Preparation Pathways, you will lead a team of academic and professional staff that specialise in best practices around enabling programs.

You will provide academic leadership for policy, procedures, business processes which support enabling teaching and service arrangements, University Preparation Pathway Programs and activities provided by DVC (Education) Portfolio, including OnTrack Flex, TLC110 and various FlexiTrack programs.


The purpose of this academic leadership position is to ensure the University's enabling program deliver on Murdoch University's strategic educational objectives and student recruitment targets leading to high levels of success and progression.

This is achieved by creating and implementing coherent and responsive enabling programs, aligned to the University Towards 2027 Strategy. The student and Education Strategy, DVC (Education) and College operational plan.

What you'll bring to this role

  • A PhD in an area relevant to appointment
  • Track record of successful teaching, research, and scholarship in enabling program education within higher education or a closely related area
  • Successful academic leadership experience in enabling programs or related area
  • Communication, interpersonal, conceptual and analytical skills
  • Experience in overseeing budgets and administrative systems.
