Role Overview:

C-Suite Partners is pleased to partner with Healthscope in the search for an established Director of Nursing (DON) to provide clinical, workforce and operational leadership at the Mount Hospital in Perth.

The Mount is a 224-bed acute private hospital centrally located at the foot of the beautiful Kings Park on Mounts Bay Road and well known for its provision of a broad range of surgical and medical care.

The hospital is the market leader in cardiothoracic and orthopaedics in Perth, and its vision is for a self-sustained hospital known for care as well as its nurse and doctor training - in Western Australia and beyond.

Reporting to the General Manager, the DON will contribute to the achievement of the hospital's strategic objectives and deliver strong performance across safety, quality, clinical governance, operations and workforce planning.

A significant focus for the role is building culture and engagement, leading through change, stakeholder management and providing strong leadership to the team of 650 at the Mount.

Key Requirements:

  • Provide clinical, workforce and operational leadership to the hospital to ensure the delivery of exceptional care and commercial performance.
  • Lead through Accreditation, clinical governance, quality, risk and safety.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including a group of leading cardiologists who are invested in the success of the hospital.
  • Create a learning environment across the hospital through providing strategic direction and leadership on the development of a hospital education plan which reflect the needs of the staff and the future business direction.

Background:

  • Extensive experience as a DON in a large and complex hospital, with proven capability leading large-scale transformation.
  • A strong track record managing workforce planning to meet operational requirements and deliver sustained business results.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospital administration procedures, clinical governance and accreditation, and emphasis on patient care and safety.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to successfully manage and navigate multiple stakeholder relationships in a complex environment.
  • Post graduate qualifications in nursing or health management.
