Where you'll be working
Integrated Booking Unit (IBU), Royal North Shore Hospital


The Integrated Booking Unit (IBU) is a crucial part of the surgical patient journey, responsible for processing all Recommendation For Admission (RFA) paperwork for elective surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital.

The IBU works collaboratively with various departments throughout the facility to ensure the patient/ carer journey is as smooth as possible.


What you'll be doing


This position is responsible for maintaining patient waiting times in accordance with the NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Management policy.

This involves liaising closely with surgical and/or medical teams to ensure timely access for patients. You will be responsible for managing the waitlist of numerous surgical specialties.

This role contributes to meeting the total health care needs and expectations of patients, clinicians, staff and the community. Waitlist coordinators achieve this by providing and maintaining a high level of customer service in the IBU.

  • Highly professional phone mannerism with an ability to synthesise and communicate information in a timely and productive manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Welldeveloped computer skills including accurate data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, including having excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, identify and escalate emerging issues.
