You will be employed as an Assistant working on large presses.

An Assistant works with the experienced Printer, and does such jobs as:

• Loading and unloading paper.

You need to be able to bend and lift and step up and down onto the press**:

- it's energetic work*

• Cleaning the ink ducts
  This will get your hands dirty:
• Changing printing plates and cleaning plates.
  Working with solvent and inks

Also:

• You are standing up for all the time you are working.
• It can be noisy, and you need to be very safety conscious so that you don't damage yourself, other people or the Press.
• On the way, you will learn a lot from the experienced Printer, and later you will be given more interesting tasks, and may even to get to run the press.

You don't need to have any printing experience, but you do need to be able to demonstrate that you are reliable; get to work on time, only take time off if you really are sick and want to learn.

Rate:
$25 - $28 per hour plus shift and overtime loading (if applicable).
